We were on the water at 6:30 a.m. and fished the good tides until 10:30
a.m. That's when when the first halibut of the day took one of the lines.
While Andrew was reeling that one in, a second line started peeling out - a halibut
double header! Andrew brought the first fish up to the boat, speared it, bonked it, and
brought it into the boat. It weighed about 45 pounds. Then I took the other
rod and started reeling. Well, with the tide flowing, and a big halibut 200 feet
down on the bottom, there was more straining than reeling. |
